Professor Steve Hams, Chief Nurse at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Senior Responsible Officer for the Gloucestershire COVID-19 Vaccination programme said:

“In Gloucestershire, we have a network of GP Primary Care Network (PCN) vaccination centres and services across the county which are playing a huge role in ensuring that we are at the vanguard of the vaccination effort. Together with additional pharmacy services, we are making rapid progress through the priority groups (subject to vaccine supply) and we would like to reassure residents aged 60 or over that they will soon be hearing from local GP services, if they haven’t already.

“If they choose to, residents aged 60 and over who receive letters through the national booking system can use the national booking website: or phone 119 to book an appointment at one of two pharmacy locations in the county – Boots in Gloucester and Badhams Pharmacy in Bishops Cleeve. Some out of county services, such as the large vaccination centre in Bristol, may also be available to certain residents in these priority groups (based on where they live) through the national booking system.

“However, our GP-led PCN services are moving rapidly through the priority cohorts and we can assure residents of Gloucestershire that they will not be left behind and will be contacted by GP services and have the opportunity to book their vaccination at these sites close to where they live.”
